There are few brands that can boast of having such a powerful visual identity as Nothing, whose transparencies and LED lights are recognizable at a glance on any of its phones. The latest to arrive in its catalog has been the Nothing Phone (2a), a mobile phone that also exceeded 100,000 units sold within a few hours of being launched, and that now reappears with a renewed look in a special version.
The new Nothing Phone (2a) Special Edition bathes in primary colors
Nothing’s philosophy is to simplify things down to their most basic form, but still maintain their appeal, and this is precisely what the brand’s industrial design team has done to create the Phone (2a) Special Edition. So far, all of the brand’s phones have stayed true to achromatic colors, with covers in shades of black, gray, and white, but they’ve never gotten into the rainbow.
Just a month ago, the British company dared to present a Phone (2a) in dark blue, but we didn’t even have the chance to see it up close, as it was sold exclusively in India and for a single day. However, it seems that Nothing has enjoyed experimenting with colors, as they have now created another special version of the Nothing Phone (2a), this time bathed in the primary color palette: red, yellow, and blue.
The choice of colors is no coincidence, and in addition to referencing some of the great designers of the past, it is also a nod to the brand’s identity. For example, red had always been present on the right earcup of all its audio products, while yellow is the protagonist of the new Nothing Ear(a), and blue was recently introduced with the Phone (2a) Blue that we just talked about.
Nothing Phone (2a) Special Edition: pricing and availability
The special edition of the Nothing Phone (2a) is priced at €379 and is sold with a unique configuration of 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage. It is available on a limited basis from today, Wednesday, May 29, through Fnac and the official website of Nothing.
Apart from the design, the Nothing Phone (2a) Special Edition maintains the same specifications with which it was released a couple of months ago. It has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate (with touch feedback up to 240Hz), 1,300 nits peak brightness, an impressive 50 MP dual rear camera and 32 MP selfie camera, 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast charging, and a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor that delivers great performance, among other things.
