Concerned about the environment and the preservation of coral and reefs, the English sculptor Jason DeCaires had the brilliant idea of creating marine museums in places where reefs are at greater risk of degradation.
Jason, along with the authorities of various countries, combined his skills as a sculptor, underwater photographer and conservationist to create these sculptures that help the growth of corals and therefore marine life. These 22 life-size figures of people he made in order to maintain and protect reefs. The sculptor says that he uses human figures as a symbol that human intervention and interaction with nature can be something positive.
