In mid-April, we told you that the star feature of Google Photos, Magic Editor or Magic Editor, would soon reach all users for free, so it would no longer be necessary to have a Google One subscription to enjoy this practical photo editing tool.

Well, the Mountain View company is keeping its promise, as Google Photos’ Magic Editor begins to be available for free on more Pixel phones and also on Samsung terminals.

Google Photos’ Magic Editor comes to older Pixel phones and Samsung phones

As confirmed by 9to5Google, the latest version of Google Photos, 6.85, is bringing the Magic Editor to some old Pixels such as the Pixel 6 Pro and Samsung smartphones for free.

It should be remembered that the Magic Editor is a feature of Google Photos that arrived exclusively on the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro in October last year and that allows you to move, resize or delete parts of an image and apply contextual background presets such as Sky, Golden Hour and Stylized.

Once this Magic Editor is available on your Pixel or Galaxy, you can access it by going to the Google Photos editing menu and clicking on the new button that appears in the bottom left corner of the app.

Of course, you should keep in mind that, if you have a Samsung mobile, this free version of the Magic Editor of Google Photos has a limit of the number of photos you can edit per month, since you can only modify and save a total of 10 images per month. This limitation does not affect Google Pixel and if you want to skip it you will have no choice but to sign up for the Google One 2 TB plan.

This new Google Photos feature is already coming to more older Pixels and a large number of Samsung devices and is expected to roll out to other brands’ handsets very soon as well, although unfortunately it hasn’t made it to my Nothing Phone (2) yet.
