Photographs Show People Were Aging Faster

At least on the internet, there is a belief that people aged faster in the past. And there are photographs that seem to confirm this, images from a time when photography was not an accessible, cheap and much less common resource. Young people who were barely 20 years old and their appearance resembled that of a modern human over 40 years old. Obviously, this is not an absolute rule, but it is curious to analyze the differences.

Perhaps, people of the past have that “aged” appearance before our eyes because of the fashion they wore and the hairstyles they made. Or perhaps because they took on responsibilities at a very young age: marriage, child-rearing, work, and the search for an independent life that did not depend on parental assistance or help.
