Meet the faces behind the great masked characters

How many times have you seen a movie with a character who totally differs from the human form? It can be a monster, a robot, or even an alien. All of them have an actor who backs them up hidden behind a mask, makeup, and special effects. It’s time for you to meet some of them.

1. You may not even recognize actor Doug Jones’ face, but you’ve probably seen him in one of these movies: “Quarantine,” “Hellboy,” “Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer,” “Pan’s Labyrinth,” and “Doom.”

3. Hugo Weaving has brought a variety of characters to life. He starred in “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,” “V for Vengeance” and played the Red Skull in “Captain America.”

4. Who would have thought. David Prowse, that nice gentleman in the photo, played Darth Vader. Prowse played the character in front of the cameras in the original trilogy, but the terrifying voice we know him for is that of James Earl Jones.

5. Warwick Davis played Wicket the Ewok in “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi” at just 11 years old. In 1993, he starred in the horror film “Leprechaun”.
