Over the last few years, Netflix, the streaming platform with the most active users in the world, has been updating its different applications with new functions and features that improve its user experience, but, without a doubt, one of the apps that the company has had most abandoned is that of smart TVs.

However, this is going to change very soon, as we have just learned that the Netflix application for Smart TV is going to be updated very soon with a new totally renewed interface.

This will be the new design of the Netflix app for Smart TVs

As The Verge tells us Netflix is already testing a complete redesign of its app for smart TVs that features a new home screen that replaces the static tiles of the previous version with new boxes that unfold when you hover over them with the TV remote.

Also, as you can see in the animated image that we leave you below these lines, from now on when you leave the cursor over a movie or a television series for a few seconds, a preview of the content in question will begin to be shown within the card itself.

In addition, at the bottom of this card, you will find all the relevant information about the movie or series such as the synopsis, genre, year of release and number of episodes.

But these are not the only changes coming to the Netflix app for smart TVs, as this update also removes the menu that appears on the left side of the Netflix home page and replaces it with a selection of options that is located at the top of the screen and includes four buttons: search, home, shows, movies, and My Netflix.

Regarding this design change of the Netflix app for Smart TVs, Pat Flemming, senior product manager at Netflix, told The Verge:

“We often see members doing gymnastics with their eyes as they explore the home experience. We really wanted to make it easier for members to determine if a degree is right for them.”
