Hett Arrestuis, a former 19th-century prison in the Netherlands, was refurbished to become a Luxury Hotel, adding a sleek, spacious and modern design, but retaining the rich history of the building. The hotel invites its guests to try its luxurious and comfortable ‘rooms’, as well as a relaxing sauna and an extensive gym. It seems like staying in a hotel has never been so much fun.
150 cells of the former prison were converted into 36 luxury rooms and 7 suites, including four special suites, called “director”, “guard”, “lawyer” and “judge”.
These rooms are located on the other side of the ex-guards’ room and the sports area. All rooms have amenities such as a comfortable double bed, shower, air conditioning, TV, free WiFi, and even a coffee machine, and each room has its own style and character.
In addition, the hotel certainly has a restaurant and a bar.
The owners and designers have a distinctly observable sense of humor: the menu says this hotel offers more than just “bread and water.”
